The World Poker Tour (WPT) concluded its final event of Season XXI in Asia with an eleven-day festival at the Crown Poker Club Hanoi in October 2023. The festival boasted 32 trophies and a total of 9 packages for the upcoming World Championship and Prime Championship. The event saw a remarkable 4,448 entries and a prize pool of VND 74,871,972,000.
The star of the festival was the Main Event, won by Sorawit Suriyakarn, who took home a prize of VND 3,856,400,000. The festival featured players from eight countries, with the host nation taking the lead in the winner’s lineup. Team India secured three prestigious trophies, with Sriharsha Doddapaneni winning Event 7: Megastack High Roller, Sameer Agarwal winning Event 14: PLO Turbo, and Meherzad Munsaf winning Event 24: Freezeout.
Among Team India’s notable scores, Deepankur Gupta, Avneesh Munjal, and Pradeep Sharma performed well in the WPT Opener, with Gupta finishing 5th for VND 164,000,000.
The event also featured tournaments like the Turbo, Superstack, Survivor Bounty 8-Max, Deepstack Turbo, High Roller 2 Day Warm Up and High Roller 2 Day Event, among others. Winners of these tournaments included Tran Thanh, Jehanne Jeremy Laurent, Dong Yixuan, Song, Li, and Ramsden Jacque Patrick.
The festival offered a total of 32 events that attracted competitors from over eight countries. The event saw some top-notch game play and competition amongst the participants, providing an exciting platform for poker enthusiasts. India’s participation and success in the event was underlined by the splendid performances and triumphs of its players in various tournaments, further enhancing its reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the world of poker.
